  1. Morphometric analysis evaluating the number of gaps per area along the sinusoidal endothelial lining, studied by SEM. Results are expressed as mean (standard deviation) and significance was determined with the Mann Whitney two-sided U-test. The symbols * and §denote significant differences between control and respective time points (p ≤ 0.05). Significant differences (p ≤ 0.05) between the number of gaps in the periportal and pericentral zones were also noted at all time points following partial hepatectomy except day 10 and control. For every group, n = 3.
