Effect of ET-1 on TGFβ-1 and MMP-2 transcript levels of 1st passage HSC and influence of the ET receptor antagonists. Cells were stimulated with 10-6 M ET-1 in absence or presence of the ETAR antagonist BQ123 (10-6 M) or the ETBR antagonist BQ788 (10-6 M). TGFβ-1 and MMP-2 transcript levels were determined by real time quantitative PCR, using Taqman technology, and data were normalized to GAPDH mRNA.
