  1. Each experiment consisted of three parallels. Values are means (SD). The letters (a, b, and c) indicate significant statistical differences between the values of the different cell types. Enzyme activities are expressed as 106 4-methylumbelliferyl (-mannopyranoside, -N-acetyl-glucosaminide, -oleate, -phosphate, -glucuronide, -sulfate) molecules released per min per g cell solubilisate at 37°C.
